During the spring of 2007 we will be following two series. In the morning we will be looking at 1 Timothy and how the standards from the first century apply to the twenty-first century. In the evening we will be looking at the life of David. 1 Timothy - Watch Your Life and Doctrine CloselyFirst Century Standards for Twenty First Century LifeI am always amazed that a letter or Bible book written 2000 years ago is still bang up to date today! People don’t change much! We are still broken and fallen human beings needing saving and shaping by God. Paul’s letter to Timothy still has the power to do this. Whether it’s allowing what we believe to shape our lives or handling money right, this first century letter could have been written for twenty-first century life! David - Shepherd and KingThe Making of a Man of GodDavid was a man after God’s own heart! That’s what the Bible says. But what can we learn from this Shepherd, poet, warrior, singer, general and King about how we can allow God to shape and make us the kind of Christian He wants us to be?God’s word – the Bible is brilliant. God is speaking about who He is to us. We read it and see him, but we also see us – who we really are and what we can be as the Holy Spirit takes hold of us and sows His Word into our lives.
