Web Site Background

There was a time when people were delighted to see a simple web page that portrayed some information about their church. Those days are now long gone. A church web site has all sorts of requirements placed upon it as people increasingly use it as their first encounter with a community. The community also has a set of requirements too.

What you are seeing now is an attempt to try to move away from a web site which simply contains static content and move towards FFMC Web being more of a place where people come and get access to a broad set of information in different media but also a place where they can interact.

Rather than trying to do that all ourselves we have decided to utilise a number of pieces of Open Source software. The primary software is Joomla which provides our content management system. Read more about it in the following articles.

  • Primary focus on adults accessing the site as seekers or enquirers.
  • Secondary focus on our church family and making information available to them.
  • Get it ‘good enough’ for now.
